## What Men's Journal reported about Robert Nikic

### Resilience first

Men's Journal opens with Robert's family fleeing war-torn Yugoslavia and arriving in New York with nothing but resilience. The article treats that as the starting capital for everything that followed.

### Teenage failures

It then covers the startups he launched as a teenager, all of which failed. Men's Journal presents those as an education rather than a setback.

### A data-driven platform

The profile describes the platform he went on to lead: one that gave online sellers AI-driven insight into what to sell, plus access to brand-name products they could not easily source alone. It notes the company's #418 ranking on the Inc. 5000.

## In Robert's words

Resilience is the word Men's Journal used, and it's a fair one. We left the Balkans as refugees and started over in New York with nothing. My teenage startups all failed, and for a while I worked 18-hour shifts just to keep going. What I eventually built was about giving small sellers the data and products big companies take for granted. We did it without outside investors, and it reached #418 and later #35 on the Inc. 5000. Since 2026 I've worked on SDG 8 & 9, because access to products and credit decides who gets to compete.

## Key takeaways

- Resilience as starting capital: The family arrived in New York with nothing but determination.
- Failure as education: Teenage startups failed and taught him what sellers needed.
- Data for small sellers: His platform gave individuals AI insight and brand-name products.

## Where this fits in his story

- 2011: First platform launched
- 2018: Relaunched as a full platform
- 2023: Inc. 5000 debut at #418 (this feature)
- 2024: Climbs to #35
- 2026: Steps away to work on SDG 8 & 9

## Where it led

Men's Journal's story is about access: who gets the tools, the products and the information. Under SDG 9.3, Robert now works on fair access to credit based on real sales, and on small businesses reaching the products and markets that larger firms already have.
