Effective Date and Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and disclosed when you visit RobertNikic.com, read its content, use its features, subscribe for updates, or submit an inquiry or contribution.
In this Privacy Policy, “Site” means RobertNikic.com. References to “I,” “me,” and “my” refer to Robert Nikic.
1. Information You Provide
Contact and Media Inquiries: When you submit an inquiry, I may collect your name, email address, telephone number, message, and information you otherwise choose to provide. Your telephone number may be used to respond to your inquiry or make a related follow-up call. It will not be used for promotional text messages.
Email Verification: The Site may use a one-time passcode or similar email-verification process. This may involve collecting and retaining your email address, verification status, verification time, and related security information.
Newsletter Subscriptions: When you subscribe for email updates, I collect your email address, signup information, consent record, confirmation status, and subscription preferences. Newsletter signup uses an unchecked consent box and a confirmation email. Each newsletter will contain an unsubscribe method and a valid physical postal address as required by applicable law.
Guest Contributions: When you submit material for possible publication, I may collect your name and contact information, your proposed article or other submission, author information, attribution and source information, information concerning permissions, ownership, or material connections, and communications concerning editing or publication.

Global Privacy Control: Some browsers or extensions transmit Global Privacy Control signals. The Site does not independently detect or process Global Privacy Control signals. Individual technology vendors may respond according to their own policies and settings. Visitors may use the cookie banner’s Reject control to decline nonessential technologies controlled through the Site.

Analytics and advertising platforms may receive information such as your Internet Protocol address, device and browser information, cookie or advertising identifiers, pages viewed, referral information, and interactions with the Site.
Third parties, including providers of the analytics and advertising tools described in this Policy, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit the Site.
These platforms may combine information collected through the Site with information obtained through other websites, applications, devices, or sources according to their own policies.
I do not control how these platforms handle information after receiving it. Their activities are governed by their respective privacy policies and settings.

When a page containing an embedded feature loads, the applicable provider may receive information about your device, browser, Internet Protocol address, page activity, and interactions with the feature. The provider may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own policies.
Selecting an external link or sharing control may take you to a third-party website. This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party websites or platforms.
8. How Information May Be Disclosed
Information may be disclosed to:

I do not sell personal information for money.
Analytics, advertising, and retargeting technologies may disclose identifiers and Site activity to third-party platforms for measurement, personalization, cross-context behavioral advertising, or other advertising purposes. Depending on applicable law, these disclosures may be characterized as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged.
You may reject nonessential analytics and advertising technologies through the Site’s cookie banner.
10. Email Choices
You may unsubscribe from newsletters by using the unsubscribe method included in each message.
I may retain limited information concerning an unsubscribed email address to maintain the unsubscribe request and avoid sending further newsletter communications.
11. Privacy Requests
You may request to:
- Access personal information collected through the Site
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information

I may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before responding. I may deny or limit a request where reasonably necessary to protect another person’s rights, maintain security, preserve records required by law, complete an existing request, or exercise or defend legal claims.
I intend to respond within 45 days. Where reasonably necessary, this period may be extended, and I will provide notice of the extension where practicable.
These choices are offered voluntarily and do not represent that every state privacy statute applies to the Site.
12. U.S. State Privacy Notices
Residents of certain states may have additional rights where the applicable law applies. These may include rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, sale or sharing, targeted advertising, or certain disclosures of personal information. You may submit a request through site@robertnikic.com. I will evaluate the request under the law applicable to the request and the Site.
California Visitors: I do not believe the Site currently meets the applicability thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. I voluntarily provide the following disclosures. Categories of personal information described in this Policy may include identifiers, Internet or electronic activity information, approximate location derived from an Internet Protocol address, submitted content, and inferences generated through analytics or advertising tools. This information may be disclosed to the categories of recipients described in Section 8. The Site may allow third parties to collect information about online activities over time and across different websites through analytics, advertising, embedded content, and similar technologies. Advertising and retargeting technologies may involve “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law. The Site does not sell personal information for money. Where California sale-or-sharing rights apply, a visitor may submit a request through site@robertnikic.com and may reject nonessential technologies through the cookie banner. The Site’s treatment of Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals is described in Section 5.
Delaware Visitors: Delaware visitors may use the process in Section 11 to request review or correction of personal information collected through the Site. Categories of information, recipients, cross-site collection, policy changes, and tracking signals are described throughout this Policy.
Nevada Visitors: Nevada visitors may submit a request concerning covered information through site@robertnikic.com. I do not sell covered information for monetary consideration as “sale” is defined under Nevada law.
13. Retention
Information is generally retained as follows:
- Contact and media inquiries: Up to 24 months after the last interaction
- Newsletter subscription information: While you remain subscribed
- Consent and suppression records: As reasonably necessary to document consent and honor communication choices
- Analytics information: Up to 14 months
- Security and technical logs: Up to 12 months
- Guest contributions and related publication records: For as long as the contribution remains published or as reasonably necessary to document rights and publication history
Information may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for security, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, enforcement, or legal requirements.
14. Security
The Site uses safeguards intended to protect information, including:
- HTTPS encryption during transmission
- Restricted administrative access
- Multi-factor authentication for administrative accounts
- Encrypted storage
- Security logging and monitoring
No method of transmission, storage, or security protection can eliminate every risk.
15. Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site.

The revised version will be posted on the Site with an updated effective date. Material changes may also be identified through a notice on the Site or another appropriate method.
Changes will apply prospectively from the stated effective date.
